Reiki is a natural healing system that was re-discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan in the 1800s. Rei means “universal” and Ki means “life force energy”. Reiki is using the Universal energy for spiritual, physical and emotional healing. Reiki can be used to heal yourself or others and works in person or at distance.

A Reiki treatment is usually performed by having the person receiving the treatment lie on a massage table (fully clothed) while the Reiki practitioner directs the Universal energy to the areas that need healing. There are specific hand positions that are used, although Reiki practitioners also direct the energy to where they intuitively feel it is needed.  A Reiki treatment is like receiving an energy massage.

Reiki treatments can also be performed via distance . Reiki healing is based on intention and there is no wrong way to do Reiki.

Reiki is a way of life, a path to peace and compassion. Many begin on the path of

Reiki for healing of physical and emotional ailments for themselves or loved ones. As you learn more about Reiki you realize that Reiki is much greater than just healing, it is a path to peace and compassion, understanding and acceptance.

To learn Reiki you must receive attunements from a Reiki Master Teacher. Typically, these attunements are performed in person (Wisconsin Area). However, I believe that it is hypocritical for attunements to be denied via distance since Reiki is based on intention and energy knows no boundaries of time or space.  I believe that attunements can be performed via distance and that they are equally effective, just as healing can be performed via distance.  While I prefer to complete Reiki attunements in the traditional method in person, I am willing to provide distance attunements to those who have a desire for the attunements and inability to get them in person. You should choose a Reiki Master Teacher that you feel a connection to. Learning Reiki often produces profound changes in your attitude and outlook and is an important step in your spiritual path. Reiki promotes compassion, understanding and acceptance. Reiki changes the way you look at the world and changes your life.

Reiki is very easy to learn, even children have been taught to work with Reiki. Reiki is taught in four different levels. First Degree Reiki introduces a student to Reiki and how to perform treatments in person for yourself or others. Second Degree Reiki teaches a practitioner to perform distance healings, and empowers the practitioner with three Reiki symbols. The Third Degree Reiki (also known as Advanced Reiki Training or ART) empowers the practitioner with an additional Reiki symbol and prepares the practitioner for becoming a Reiki Master. The Reiki Master Level empowers the practitioner to attune others and be a Reiki Master Teacher. Each level of Reiki training promotes deeper spiritual development for the individual as well as increasing their knowledge of the Reiki healing methods.
