Chakras

Chakras are like fans that move energy through our bodies. When your chakras are out of balance, the energy doesn’t flow smoothly or effectively and you feel tired, unsatisfied and disconnected. When your chakras are in balance, energy moves smoothly through your body and you feel peace, love and connection to the Source.
There are many chakras in and around the body, but there are seven main chakras that energy healing primarily concentrates on. The chakras located in the hands and feet are also very important.
Root Chakra The Root Chakra is located at the base of the spine (pubic bone) and is red in color. The Root Chakra is associated with physical security and safety, money, basic needs for yourself and loved ones, and self-esteem. Fears or obsessions relating to physical needs and safety can put the Root Chakra out of balance. An unbalanced Root Chakra often manifests as physical problems related to reproductive organs and sexual vitality and problems with the lower back, hips, and legs.
Sacral Chakra The Sacral Chakra is located just below the naval and is orange in color. The Sacral Chakra is associated with physical pleasures, confidence, addictions, appearance, and relationships with others. Fears or obsessions relating to physical pleasures and what others think of you can put the Sacral Chakra out of balance. An unbalanced Sacral Chakra often manifests as physical problems related to the lymphatic system, lower intestines and digestive system.
Solar Plexus Chakra The Solar Plexus Chakra is located just above the naval and is yellow in color. The Solar Plexus Chakra is associated with personal power, and control of yourself or others. Fears or obsessions relating to control and power can put the Solar Plexus Chakra out of balance. An unbalanced Solar Plexus Chakra often manifests as physical problems related to digestive difficulties, liver problems, and food allergies.
Heart Chakra The Heart Chakra is located in the middle of the chest and is green in color (although pink is often also associated with the Heart Chakra). The Heart Chakra is associated with love, relationships, attachments, forgiveness and emotions. Fears or obsessions relating to love and relationships, or the need to forgive others or yourself can put the Heart Chakra out of balance. An unbalanced Heart Chakra often manifests as physical problems related to the heart, circulatory and respiratory system.
Throat Chakra The Throat Chakra is located at the throat and is light blue in color. The Throat Chakra is associated with communication and creativity. Fears or obsessions relating to communicating and speaking your truth can put the Throat Chakra out of balance. An unbalanced Throat Chakra often manifests as physical problems related to back pain, ear infections, throat irritations, skin irritations or thyroid problems.
Third Eye/Brow Chakra The Third Eye or Brow Chakra is located on the forehead and is associated with the color indigo. The Third Eye Chakra is associated with intuition, dreaming, and beliefs. Fears or obsessions about beliefs or trusting your intuition can put the Third Eye Chakra out of balance. An unbalanced Third Eye Chakra often manifests as physical problems related to headaches, vision or dulled senses.
Crown Chakra The Crown Chakra is located on the top of the head and is purple. The Crown Chakra is associated with knowledge, understanding, wisdom and connection to the Source. Fears or obsessions about understanding and compassion can put the Crown Chakra out of balance. An unbalanced Crown Chakra often manifests as physical problems related to our head and nervous system, or as depression or a feeling of lack of purpose.
Once you know where the chakras are and what they represent, you can learn to see or feel them on yourself or others to determine if they are balanced or blocked and need work to restore them to their optimum performance.
Chakra Balancing
You can balance your own chakras, or you can work on someone else to balance their chakras. There are many ways to balance chakras and I encourage you to research different methods. A Chakra Balancing session can be very helpful to set your chakras back in balance.
One way to balance your own chakras is to lie down, relax, and close your eyes, then visualize each color starting with red and moving on to the next color once you see the color through the entire spectrum (orange, yellow, green, blue, inigo and purple.)
There are physical exercises that can help balance the chakras and help the energy flow smoothly through your body. Here are a few very simple exercises that are beneficial.
For the Root Chakra, lie on your back and hug your knees to your chest. Hold this position for several minutes.
For the Sacral Chakra, lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Lift your pelvis up and hold it for a count of 10 then relax back onto the floor. Repeat this several times.
For the Solar Plexus Chakra, lie on your stomach on the floor. Push your body up like you are doing a push-up and hold that position with your body rigid for a count of 10 or longer.
For the Heart Chakra, lie on your stomach on the floor. With your legs straight and your toes pointed, lift your upper body and rest with your forearms flat against the floor. Hold this position for a count of 10 or longer.
For the Throat Chakra, sit in a comfortable position with your back straight and use your left hand to stretch your neck and head to the left side. Hold this for a count of 10. Then use your right hand to stretch your neck and head to the right side for a count of 10.
For the Third Eye Chakra, sit in a comfortable position with your back straight and close your eyes. Bring your hands in a prayer position up to your forehead, touching your Third Eye Chakra and chant the sound of om out loud.
For the Crown Chakra, sit in a comfortable position with your back straight and your arms relaxed out to the sides. Raise your arms up while inhaling until they touch above your head then exhale as you lower your arms back to your sides.

Auras
The aura is energy that is emitted from our bodies that often shows areas where the energy is unbalanced and where injury or illness is located. All living things have auras, and many of us actually see them all the time but don’t realize what we are looking at and just dismiss it from our minds.
Plants usually have a shimmery colorless glow around them if you take the time to look at them. People and animals have colored auras that swirl and move. There are seven layers to the aura. Most people see the first layer or two very easily with a little practice and can learn to see the higher layers of the aura with additional practice.
Once you are able to see the aura, you will be able to see areas that are rough or look like static, or areas where it looks like the energy is leaving the aura or where the color is different and looks agitated. This indicates injury or illness that needs healing.
